from an original in the E. Bagnasco collection. The Libeccio, minus her stern, is towed in the port of Palermo in mid April 1941. The Libeccio collided with m/s Esperia, during a convoy-escort mission from Naples to Tripoli, in the night of 14 April; the merchant ship managed to steam back to Naples under her own power, but Libeccio remained dead in the water and was later towed to Palermo by the torpedo boat Orione. After a brief overhaul in Naples, Libeccio was towed to Genoa where the repairs were completed by the end of August.
